Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Yoga, Physical Education and Sports (IJYPES) welcomes submissions that advance knowledge in the fields of yoga, physical education, sports science, and related disciplines. Authors are invited to submit manuscripts that align with the journal’s aims and scope. All submissions will be evaluated by an editor to determine their suitability for peer review. Manuscripts deemed appropriate will undergo peer review to decide on acceptance or rejection. These guidelines outline the submission types, formatting requirements, and manuscript components to ensure a smooth submission process.

Submission Types

Articles

Original research articles should not exceed 6,000 words, excluding the title page, abstract, keywords, references, figure captions, tables, and supporting information. If a manuscript exceeds this limit, authors must provide a justification in the cover letter and seek approval from the Editor-in-Chief.

Reviews

Review articles synthesize existing literature on topics related to yoga, physical education, or sports, addressing advancements, challenges, and future directions. Authors must submit a review proposal to the editorial office before submission, outlining the scope and relevance of the review.

Corrigenda

Corrigenda are published to correct significant errors in previously published articles. Authors must contact the editorial office with details of the error and proposed corrections.

Submission Preparation

Before submitting, authors are responsible for:

  • Obtaining permission to publish any material included in the submission, such as photos, documents, or datasets.
  • Ensuring all listed authors consent to be identified as authors.
  • Securing approval from an appropriate ethics committee for research involving human or animal subjects, in accordance with the legal requirements of the study’s country.
  • Ensuring the study design and research argument are well-structured and clearly articulated.
  • Crafting a concise title and a standalone abstract to increase the likelihood of reviewer acceptance.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality, such as poor study design, unclear arguments, or an inadequate title or abstract. Authors should review the checklist below to prepare their submission.

Submission Checklist

  • Confirm the manuscript aligns with IJYPES’s aims and scope.
  • Obtain permissions for all included materials (e.g., photos, datasets).
  • Verify all authors consent to authorship.
