Repository Policy
The International Journal of Yoga, Physical Education and Sports (IJYPES), published by AASTEMER (https://aastemer.org/), is committed to promoting open access and the broad dissemination of research in yoga, physical education, and sports sciences. This Repository Policy outlines the guidelines for authors to deposit their work in institutional, subject-based, or other repositories, ensuring compliance with the journal’s open-access principles and ethical standards.
Scope of the Policy
This policy applies to all content published in IJYPES, including research articles, reviews, short communications, and conference papers. It governs the deposition of three types of manuscripts:
- Preprint: The version submitted to IJYPES before peer review.
- Postprint (Accepted Manuscript): The version accepted for publication after peer review but before final formatting and copyediting.
- Final Published Version: The journal’s formatted, published version with the assigned DOI.
Deposition Guidelines
- Permitted Repositories: Authors may deposit their manuscripts in institutional repositories (e.g., university repositories), subject-based repositories, or personal websites, provided the repository is non-commercial and supports open access.
- Preprints:
- Authors are encouraged to deposit preprints in repositories before submission to IJYPES.
- Preprints must clearly state that they are not peer-reviewed and are under consideration by IJYPES.
- Postprints (Accepted Manuscripts):
- Authors may deposit postprints immediately upon acceptance, with no embargo period, in line with IJYPES’s open-access model.
- Postprints must include a statement acknowledging IJYPES and a link to the final published version (if available) using the article’s DOI (e.g., “This is an accepted manuscript of an article published in the International Journal of Yoga, Physical Education and Sports at [DOI link]”).
- Final Published Version:
- Authors may deposit the final published version (PDF) in repositories immediately upon publication, as IJYPES is fully open access.
- The deposited version must include proper attribution to IJYPES, including the journal’s name, volume, issue, and DOI, and a link to the article on https://ijypes.aastemer.org/.
- Licensing: Deposited manuscripts must adhere to IJYPES’s open-access license (e.g., Creative Commons Attribution License, CC BY), ensuring that usage complies with the license terms.
Author Responsibilities
- Attribution: All deposited versions must credit IJYPES as the original publication source and include a link to the journal’s website or the article’s DOI.
- Originality: Deposited manuscripts must comply with IJYPES’s Plagiarism Policy and Generative AI Policy, ensuring originality and proper disclosure of AI use.
- Metadata: Authors should ensure that repository deposits include accurate metadata (e.g., title, authors, DOI, publication date) to facilitate discoverability.
Benefits of Deposition
- Increased Visibility: Depositing in repositories enhances the discoverability and impact of your research within the global academic community.
- Compliance with Funding Requirements: IJYPES’s policy supports authors in meeting open-access mandates from funding agencies or institutions.
- Alignment with Open Access: Deposition aligns with IJYPES’s mission to make research freely accessible to researchers, educators, and practitioners worldwide.
Ethical Considerations
- Non-Commercial Use: Deposited manuscripts must not be used for commercial purposes unless explicitly permitted by IJYPES.
- Preservation of the Scholarly Record: Authors should deposit in reputable, stable repositories to ensure long-term accessibility, complementing IJYPES’s Preservation Policy.
