Article Processing Charges

The International Journal of Yoga, Physical Education and Sports (IJYPES), published by AASTEMER (https://aastemer.org/), is a fully open-access journal dedicated to advancing research in yoga, physical education, and sports sciences. To sustain its open-access model, which ensures that all published content is freely accessible to a global audience without subscription barriers, IJYPES levies Article Processing Charges (APCs) for accepted manuscripts. This policy outlines the APC structure, exemptions, and payment process, ensuring transparency for authors.

APCs support the operational costs of IJYPES, including online hosting, digital archiving, indexing, and permanent preservation of published content. By covering these costs, IJYPES maintains its commitment to providing high-quality, open-access publications that are freely available to researchers, educators, practitioners, and the public worldwide.

APC Structure

The APC for all article types published in IJYPES is:

  • ₹1500 (Indian Rupees) or $50 (USD) per article, regardless of the manuscript type.

This applies to research articles, review articles, short communications, and conference papers accepted after peer review, as outlined in IJYPES’s Peer Review Process Policy. The APC covers:

  • Assignment of a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for each article.

  • Online publication and hosting on https://ijypes.aastemer.org/.

  • Indexing, indexing in databases such as OpenAIRE and Zenodo (where applicable).

  • Long-term preservation through digital archiving systems, as per IJYPES’s Preservation Policy.

Exemptions and Waivers

IJYPES is committed to ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent the publication of high-quality research. The journal offers the following waiver options:

  • Full Waivers: Available for authors from low-income countries, as defined by the World Bank, or those facing significant financial hardship. Authors must submit a waiver request with their manuscript via the submission portal at https://ijypes.aastemer.org/.
  • Partial Waivers: Available on a case-by-case basis for authors with demonstrated financial need, such as early-career researchers or those from underfunded institutions.
  • Conference Papers: Authors of papers presented at IJYPES-organized conferences may be eligible for discounted APCs, subject to agreement with conference organizers.

Waiver requests are reviewed confidentially by the editorial office and do not influence editorial decisions. Authors should contact support@aastemer.org for guidance on applying for a waiver.

Payment Process

  • Notification: Authors will be informed of the APC upon manuscript acceptance, along with payment instructions.
  • Invoicing: An invoice will be issued via the submission portal or emailed to the corresponding author, detailing the APC and payment methods (e.g., bank transfer, online payment, or UPI for authors in India).
  • Payment Deadline: Payment must be completed within 14 days of invoice receipt to proceed with publication. Delays may postpone the article’s publication.
  • Publication: Once payment is confirmed, the article will be prepared for online publication in the earliest available issue (March, June, September, or December), as per IJYPES’s quarterly schedule.

Transparency and Ethical Standards

  • No Submission Fees: IJYPES does not charge fees for manuscript submission or peer review.
  • Fairness: APCs have no bearing on editorial decisions, which are based solely on scientific merit, as outlined in IJYPES’s Publishing Ethics Policy and Peer Review Process Policy.
  • Refunds: APCs are non-refundable once an article is published. In cases of retraction due to ethical violations (e.g., plagiarism, as per the Plagiarism Policy), no refunds will be issued.

Benefits of Open Access with IJYPES

  • Global Accessibility: APCs enable IJYPES to provide free access to all published content, maximizing the reach and impact of your research.
  • Repository Deposition: Authors can deposit their work in repositories, as per IJYPES’s Repository Policy, further enhancing visibility.
  • Long-Term Preservation: APCs support permanent archiving, ensuring your research remains accessible for future generations, as outlined in the Preservation Policy.

For questions about APCs, waiver requests, or payment processes, please contact the editorial office at support@aastemer.org or visit https://ijypes.aastemer.org/. We aim to respond within five business days.
